About Portfolio Visualizer

Online tools for backtesting asset allocations, running Monte Carlo simulations and analyzing factor exposure.

Portfolio Visualizer is a set of web tools for testing portfolios. You can backtest an allocation of funds or asset classes, run Monte Carlo simulations of withdrawals, look at factor exposure and compare a portfolio with a benchmark.

Advisors and do-it-yourself investors use it to see how a mix of assets would have behaved in past markets. Backtests describe the past under simplified assumptions, so they show how a portfolio might behave, not how it will.

A free tier covers many of the basic tools with limits, and paid plans add more features and saved work. Read each tool's assumptions, such as rebalancing and fees, before comparing results. Results can be exported, which helps if you want to keep a record of the assumptions behind an allocation you chose.
